Dr. David and Dr. Yelena Pakula

Vita-Health Acupuncture & Wellness Center was founded in 2005 by Dr. David and Dr. Yelena Pakula, husband and wife licensed acupuncture physicians. David and Yelena have traveled throughout the world to find the best holistic treatments for their clinic and for advanced professional training.


They practice Japanese Acupuncture & Moxibustion in the tradition of Kiiko Matsumoto & Master Nagano. Each received advanced certification training in this style of acupuncture both in the United States and in Japan. 

They also received training and certification in homeopathy with the Center for Education and Development of Clinical Homeopathy (CEDH), including homeopathic injection therapy and ozone therapy. Training in prolotherapy and neuroprolotherapy in Italy and Greece with the European School of Prolotherapy. They are also certified practitioners of ozone therapy, having received training in the United States, Spain, and the Russian Federation.

Dr. David and Dr. Yelena also perform cupping therapy, prolotherapy and prolozone injection therapy for musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. They participate in annual missions in Greece, providing treatment for indigent patients. Their ozone practice includes prolozone, PRP for joints, ozonated saline IV therapy, ozone autohemotherapy, and ozone insufflation. In their clinic, they also perform IV nutrition and vitamin injection therapy.

Before immigrating to the United States in 2000, Dr. Yelena Pakula had been a practicing Medical Doctor in St. Petersburg, Russia, specializing in neurology, osteopathy and acupuncture, since 1989. She then received her Master’s Degree and Florida acupuncture license, and went on to earn a Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (D.A.O.M.) degree from the Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Dr. Pakula completed a doctoral capstone on Neurogenic Thoracic Outlet Syndrome.

Dr. Yelena has maintained her Russian medical license, and is currently studying toward an advanced medical degree of osteopathic medicine at the Medical Institute of Osteopathy of St. Petersburg. 

Dr. David Pakula was a successful attorney before pursuing his Masters Degree in Oriental Medicine with Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine. He is a Florida licensed Acupuncture Physician and a Diplomat of Oriental Medicine (D.O.M.). He received advanced training in Jing Fang Classical Chinese herbal medicine, also known as herbology, in the Hu Xi shu lineage of the classical teaching of Zhang Zhong Jing, with Dr. Feng Shi Lun and Suzanne Robidoux of China. He received certification training in functional medicine with the School of Applied Functional Medicine.

In addition, he received a diploma in ozone therapy and growth factors from AEPROMO (Spanish Association of Medical Professionals in Ozone Therapy) in Madrid, Spain. As part of his diploma training, he presented a case study in Madrid in February 2020. His original paper, Dose dependent effects of O2/O3 therapy on PSA levels of patient with risk of prostate cancer, was published in Ozone Therapy Global Journal vol. 10, nº 1. pp. 69-77, 2020.

Together, they joined forces and have created a state-of-the-art practice: Vita-Health Regenerative Wellness Center (previously Vita-Health Acupuncture & Wellness Center) featuring various health technologies that David & Yelena investigated in their international travels.

This includes state-of-the-art ozone equipment, ultraviolet blood irradiation (UBI), a salt cave, and a cryosauna. The ozone equipment provides local and systemic ozone treatment according to international standards. The salt room provides computer-controlled salt inhalation therapy, otherwise known as halotherapy, in a tranquil, cave-like atmosphere in the European style of simulated salt caves. The cryosauna uses cutting-edge technology to provide the amazing health benefits of cryotherapy.

Vita-Health also offers the latest in anti-aging and esthetic procedures, including anti-aging PRP facial and scalp treatments, chemical peels, and other treatments.

Dr. Herbert R. Slavin M.D.

MEDICAL DIRECTOR

Dr. Slavin is currently the medical director of Vita-Health.  He received his medical degree from Stony Brook University School of Medicine in New York.

He has been in practice for over 30 years and specializes in internal and integrative medicine.  Dr. Slavin established the Institute of Advanced Medicine in Lauderhill, Florida more than 20 years ago. He has also been a guest lecturer on issues of disease prevention and alternative medicine.  He is the host of “Natural Doc Radio.”
